Calm Day in Giro d’Italia Women

With 108 kilometers on the agenda and starting in Frontone, the riders of AG Insurance – Soudal faced their fifth stage of the Giro d’Italia Women. Thursday was a relatively calm stage for the peloton, serving as a sprinters' day before they tackle three more challenging days ahead.
The flatter terrain and milder pace allowed the sprinters to shine, while the rest of the teams maintained their positions and prepared for the upcoming tough climbs.
“There isn’t much to say about today’s stage. It was a pretty uneventful day, with some minor attack attempts here and there, but no group really managed to break away. Ultimately, it came down to a sprint. Marthe had the opportunity to try her luck in the sprint, but due to a crash about four to five kilometers from the finish, she fell behind and couldn’t sprint. The rest of the team was able to recover well, which is important for the next three days,” said Sport Director Fien Delbaere.
