AG Insurance – Soudal ready to compete in Denmark
Our team is looking forward to a new challenge this weekend.
The newest race on the World Tour calendar, Copenhagen Sprint takes place this Saturday, on the longest day of the year, when twenty-one teams will line up in Roskilde, one of Denmark’s oldest cities, dating back to the Viking Age. Among these squads will also be AG Insurance – Soudal, who’ll take on this 151km flat course ending in the country’s capital with a roster motivated to leave its mark on the race.
Fauve Bastiaenssen, Julia Borgström, Shari Bossuyt, Marthe Goossens, Alexandra Manly and Nicole Steigenga – who finished top ten this month at both Antwerp Port Epic and Dwars door de Westhoek – are our six riders who will pin on a number for the inaugural edition of the event.
“Copenhagen is a new race and it remains to be seen how it will unfold. The first few kilometers are narrow and we also have some open sections throughout the race, where the peloton could split. We’ll see if the wind will make for a fast and hectic race, before tackling the local laps in the city center. On paper, it looks easy there, but it’s not, as the circuit has some technical parts. Hopefully, we will be up there and do something nice this weekend”, said sports manager Jolien D’hoore.
