Mireia Benito finishes fifth in time trial at Thuringen Ladies Tour

On the penultimate day of the Thuringen Ladies Tour, the Spanish rider from AG Insurance – Soudal delivered an impressive time trial, resulting in a top-five finish. The race against the clock took place in Altenburg over a distance of 31.5 kilometers.
With an average speed of 43.48 km/h, she completed the course in 43 minutes and 28 seconds. The fastest time in this stage was set by Mischa Bredewold. Brodie Chapman and Christina Schweinberger finished in second and third place, respectively.
"Today, the first part of the course was very fast, which is why aerodynamics were so important. The second part was more technical, so I tried to save my legs a bit towards the end because of the cobblestones, which made it really tough. I could do this thanks to all my teammates who helped me yesterday, allowing me to save some energy. So, today's success is largely thanks to them. The weather was beautiful with a bit of wind. Everything went smoothly, and Fien was great on the radio. I'm really happy with the result!" said a delighted Mireia.
With this performance, Mireia now stands in fifth place in the overall classification. In the team classification, we are currently in second place.
