AG Insurance – Soudal to Ronde van Vlaanderen

Our squad for the Belgian Monument was unveiled at the headquarters of Safety Jogger, Thursday afternoon.

AG Insurance – Soudal will take on the Ronde van Vlaanderen for the fourth consecutive year this Sunday, when the race will kick off from Oudenaarde and cover a 168.9km course featuring twelve climbs, including the iconic Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg, the latter coming less than 15 kilometers from the finish.

Having enjoyed a solid season so far, our team will go to the start with a lot of motivation to fight for a good result at the season’s second Monument. The six-rider squad for the 22nd edition of De Ronde will consist of Justine Ghekiere, Kim Le Court – our squad’s best finisher here last season and fifth at Milano-Sanremo just a few weeks ago – Alexandra Manly, Nicole Steigenga, Ilse Pluimers and Gladys Verhulst-Wild.

“We expect another hard race. The peloton will take on three loops, the first of which is totally new compared to last year, while the second one has some changes, only the last being identical to what we had at the previous edition. Koppenberg will be a crucial point, and hopefully we’ll have as many riders as possible make it over the top. Of course, Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg will also be two key climbs, where a lot of major things could happen.”

Kim comes here after her excellent outings at the UAE Tour and Milano-Sanremo, while Justine is on her way back and has shown some great things in the last couple of races.
