Time Trial day in Borlo
Four of our riders will be at the start of Sunday’s 29km event.
One year ago, Luca Vierstraete rode a perfect race to capture the victory in the Testtijdrit Borlo, a win made even sweeter by the fact she was joined on the podium by her teammate, Emma Siegers. The young Belgian, who averaged an impressive 44km/h at that time, returns at the start this weekend with the ambition of defending her title. Luca will be one of our four riders in action Sunday afternoon, alongside Anna Bruneel, Tess Moerman and Lore De Schepper.
“Borlo is one of the three test time trials of the year. Our main goal will be to practice the pre-race routine and warm-up protocols, and at the same time, do our best and get an all-out effort on the bike on this closed course, which can be beneficial for the riders in the bigger time trials that come later in the season.”
“It will be a good opportunity for our riders to practice the pacing plan and for us to make adjustments for the next races. The course is mainly flat, containing a few parts where the road goes up, but also open sections where the wind could play a role. One year ago, our team had a perfect day in Borlo, and we are determined to do our best again and fight for other good results”, said AG Insurance - Soudal trainer Martijn Kusters.
