Mireia Benito set for a new chapter

After four special seasons, Mireia Benito is set to leave AG Insurance - Soudal Team. From 2027, the Spanish rider will take on a new challenge with Spanish WorldTour team Movistar, bringing an end to a chapter in which she has grown both as a rider and as a person. 

When Benito joined the team four years ago, she was there from the very beginning of a new chapter. Over the years, she witnessed the team grow and develop, while making her own journey as a rider. Along the way, she built strong relationships with her teammates and staff, making her time with the team a truly special part of her career. 

"It's really impossible to sum it all up in just a few words, but if I had to choose one, it would be, without a doubt, family. You have seen me grow, just like a family does. We built something really special together, becoming the incredible team that we are today." 

Over the course of her four seasons with the team, Benito continued to develop as a rider and gained valuable experience along the way. The support, trust and patience she received from the people around her played an important role in that journey, giving her the confidence to take on new responsibilities when she felt ready. 

"I will never have enough words to thank you for everything you've done for me. Every single one of you treated me with so much respect and always saw the person behind the cyclist. You believed in me, were patient with me and gave me the trust and confidence to take on responsibilities when I was ready for them." 

Looking back on her time with AG Insurance - Soudal, Benito does so with immense gratitude. She credits the people around her for helping her become the rider she is today and for playing an important part in the results she has achieved. 

"The rider I am today, and all the results I have achieved, are thanks to you, thanks to every single member of this team. Now our paths are going in different directions, but I'm convinced that we'll keep creating memories together on the road." 

After four years, Benito says goodbye to her teammates, staff and the AG Insurance - Soudal fans. A new chapter awaits her at Movistar Team, but the memories and relationships built during her time with the team will remain a special part of her career. 

"To all of you, my teammates, the staff and the AG Insurance - Soudal fans: thank you. Really, thank you for these incredible and unforgettable four years. I wish you nothing but the very best, and I'm sure our paths will cross again in the future." 

From 2027 onwards, Mireia Benito will defend the colours of Movistar Team. As she looks ahead to a new challenge, she leaves AG Insurance - Soudal with four years of memories, growth and a bond that goes far beyond cycling.
