Letizia's Bio

Letizia is an experienced Italian rider and a proven force in the Classics, known for her attacking instinct, resilience and strong performances on demanding terrain. Having started racing at the age of 12, she has steadily built an impressive career at the highest level of women’s cycling.

The Italian enjoyed an outstanding recent season, finishing runner-up at Paris–Roubaix, the “Queen of the Classics”, and claiming a strong sixth place at the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Her palmarès also includes a stage victory from the breakaway at the 2019 Giro d’Italia, underlining her ability to combine endurance with race intelligence. In addition, Borghesi has consistently delivered top-ten results in prestigious races such as the Italian National Championships, Scheldeprijs, Brabantse Pijl, Dwars door het Hageland and the Grand Prix de Wallonie.

A rider who thrives in the Classics, Letizia brings valuable experience and depth to the AG Insurance - Soudal squad. Her strengths lie in tough one-day races and selective finales, but she also remains a dangerous stage hunter in stage races.

Motivated and ambitious, Borghesi has set her sights high for the future. Winning a Monument remains her biggest personal dream, while being a teammate who can truly make the difference in key moments is equally important to her. Joining a Belgian team holds special meaning for the Italian, who embraces the Classics culture and even dreams of learning Flemish to fully immerse herself in it.

With her experience, fighting spirit and warm personality, Letizia Borghesi is a valuable addition to AG Insurance - Soudal, ready to contribute to the team’s ambitions in the cobbled Classics and beyond.
