Starting on Wednesday, September 11, the European Road Championships will officially kick off, and AG Insurance – Soudal is well represented. In the coming days, our riders will compete for European titles in various categories and disciplines, with the championship lasting until Sunday, September 15.

Time Trial: U23 and Elite

On Wednesday, both the U23 and elite time trials will take place. The U23 riders will start in Heusden – Zolder and finish in Hasselt, covering a distance of 21.2 kilometers. Representing AG Insurance – Soudal are Marthe Goossens, Febe Jooris, Julia Kopecky, Laura Lizette Sander and Maud Rijnbeek.

The elite riders will tackle the same course in the afternoon. Gaia Masetti and Mireia Benito will be at the start for AG Insurance – Soudal.

Mixed Relay Time Trial

On Thursday, September 12, the mixed relay time trial will be held. Gaia Masetti will represent AG Insurance – Soudal in this event. The men will start in Heusden – Zolder, followed by the women taking over in Hasselt, where they will also finish.

Road Race: U23 and Elite

Friday will see the U23 riders take on the road race over 101.4 kilometers, once again starting in Heusden – Zolder and finishing in Hasselt. Marthe Goossens, Febe Jooris, Julia Kopecky, Ilse Pluimers, and Maud Rijnbeek will represent AG Insurance – Soudal. Dutch rider Ilse Pluimers will defend her title after being crowned European U23 champion last year in Drenthe.

On Saturday, the elite road race will take place. Julia Borgström, Mireia Benito, and Gaia Masetti will represent AG Insurance – Soudal in this 162-kilometer race. Like the U23 on Friday, the course will start in Heusden – Zolder and finish in Hasselt, with riders facing cobblestone sections and climbs such as the Zammelenberg and Kolmontberg along the way.
