On Tuesday, March 4, AG Insurance – Soudal will line up for the 14th edition of Le Samyn des Dames, a challenging one-day race starting in Quaregnon and finishing in Dour, covering a total distance of 122 kilometers.

Cobblestones and tough climbs in the local circuit

The riders will face a varied course where cobbled sectors and climbs play a crucial role. With 107 kilometers to go, they will enter the local circuit, where they must tackle several demanding sections, including the Côte des Nonnettes and Rue de Belle Vue. These sections will undoubtedly influence the race and determine who can compete for the victory.

Strong AG Insurance – Soudal lineup

The team brings a strong and versatile lineup to the start, consisting of:

  • Nicole Steigenga
  • Gladys Verhulst – Wild
  • Ilse Pluimers
  • Fauve Bastiaenssen
  • Julia Borgström
  • Alana Castrique
  • Marthe Goossens

Stijn Steels, Sports Director: "Le Samyn is a typical Flemish race: lots of cobbles, constant ups and downs, and nervous racing all day. But it’s also a race where you can really race aggressively.

Some big names are on the start list, like Wiebes and Bäckstedt, and there are strong sprinters in the field. This could make the race more controlled, but we are lining up with a team that wants to be active and take initiative.

Ilse showed last weekend that she is in great form, and Gladys should also handle this course well. Hopefully, they will be our two key riders in the final. But everyone on the team will have their chance, and we hope to make it an aggressive and hard race."
