Friday, September 6th marks the start of the third edition of the Tour de Romandie, a three-day cycling race in the western part of Switzerland. This edition promises a challenging course once again, with two hilly stages and a flat stage that ends with an uphill finish. In total, the riders will cover 379.9 kilometers.

Stage 1 - Friday, September 6th

The race kicks off in La Grande Béroche and finishes in Lausanne, covering a distance of 133.8 kilometers. This opening stage features some challenging climbs and will immediately ignite action in the peloton.

Stage 2 - Saturday, September 7th

The second stage takes the riders over a mostly flat course, from Chippis to Vercorin. Although most of the stage is flat, the riders will face a tough climb towards the finish, with an uphill arrival that promises an exciting conclusion.

Stage 3 - Sunday, September 8th

The final stage starts and finishes in Morges, spanning 144.2 kilometers. This last day will demand everything from the riders, providing climbers with a chance to make their mark on the overall classification.

AG Insurance - Soudal is ready for this challenge with a strong lineup at the start: Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Julia Borgström, Julie Van de Velde, Lore De Schepper, Mireia Benito, and Sarah Gigante.

It’s a three-day cycling race, and as a team, we are mainly looking forward to the second stage, which finishes uphill on a long climb of about 10 kilometers. Stage 1 is also a tough one, with several climbs, though never too steep, and a slight uphill finish. The first stage will be a bit of a wait-and-see, as we are starting with a few riders coming back from illness or injury, such as Ashleigh and Mireia. Although everyone is in good shape and has shown they are race-ready during training, it’s always a bit of an adjustment to get back into competition. On the first day, we’ll have to see how everyone feels and decide how to play it out in the finale. However, our main focus is on the second stage. It won’t be easy, of course, but Sarah proved in the Tour de France Femmes that she can climb with the best, so she will be our leader in this race. Ashleigh will have a free role, depending on how she feels and how things go”, said sports director Fien Delbaere.
