Today, AG Insurance – Soudal kicked off their first appearance in La Vuelta Femenina with a 16-kilometer team time trial through Valencia. This first stage, characterized by a flat course, provided the team with an excellent opportunity to make a strong start.

For many of the AG Insurance - Soudal riders, this stage was their first experience in a team time trial at this level, making it an exciting and educational experience. Despite the novelty of the situation, the team held strong and managed to place in the top ten, finishing tenth just 32 seconds behind the leaders.

The stage win went to the team from Lidl-Trek, who set a time of 19 minutes and 20 seconds. Close on their heels, Visma Lease a Bike finished with the same time, while the third place went to SD Worx – Protime.

“I think we can all be very proud of today's performance in the team time trial. We started the day optimistic and aiming for a top result, so naturally, finishing tenth and losing some time in the general classification is a bit disappointing. However, we executed our plan flawlessly and everyone put in their best effort. Considering our limited experience in this discipline, both as a team and individually, sticking to our pacing plan and maintaining good formation were significant achievements for us. The fact that we set personal records in power and heart rate across all seven riders shows just how hard we tried! I'm looking forward to the next team time trial, but right now, I'm even more motivated for the upcoming seven stages!”, said an enthusiastic Sarah.
