AG Insurance – Soudal shines in Stage 6 of La Vuelta Femenina

Our team delivered an impressive team performance during Stage 6 of La Vuelta Femenina today.

Early in the stage, Justine Ghekiere was part of a breakaway group of 19 riders, which was eventually caught after about 20 kilometers. Soon after, Nicole Steigenga launched a strong counterattack and spent several kilometers off the front before being reeled in by the peloton near the finale.

Back in the bunch, Nicole joined forces with Marthe Goossens and her teammates to contest the sprint, where she finished in a strong fifth place, confirming her excellent condition. Her aggressive and courageous ride earned her the most combative rider award for the stage.

To top off a remarkable day, AG Insurance – Soudal also won the team classification for the stage, underlining the collective strength and determination of the entire squad.

"I felt really strong today. Justine was part of the early break, which was a great opportunity for us, but unfortunately it got caught. Later, I attacked with two other riders, but I could tell they weren’t fully committing. After we were brought back, I focused on positioning myself again, and thanks to the great teamwork, I was perfectly placed for the sprint. The final 500 meters were quite tough, slightly uphill, but I gave it everything to the line. I’m really happy with today, finishing fifth, the overall team performance, and the recognition with both the most combative rider award and winning the team classification of today's stage 6."
