AG Insurance - Soudal to Flèche Wallonne Femmes.

Mur de Huy is back on the menu this Wednesday, when the peloton will climb it twice.

Sitting between Amstel Gold Race and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Flèche Wallonne is a unique race on the cycling calendar, one built around a single ascent, and an iconic one for that matter: the Mur de Huy.

This won’t be the only hurdle of the day, however, as both Côte d’Ereffe and Côte de Cherave are expected to spark a selection before the peloton arrives at the bottom of the last ascent for the most electrifying 1300 meters in cycling. The steep and brutal Mur de Huy averages 9.6%, and positioning, timing and raw power will all be important there, as the riders give everything they have for a top result.

For Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, this will be the 16th consecutive start in Flèche Wallonne, a race where she finished on the podium twice and in the top ten a total of nine times, most recently two years ago. Coming off the back of strong showings at both Brabantse Pijl and Amstel Gold Race, Ashleigh will aim for another good result on Wednesday, when she’ll be joined by Anya Louw, Lore De Schepper, Alexandra Manly, Tess Moerman, and Julie Van De Velde.

“We miss some riders due to injuries, but we still have a good team. Ashleigh has shown she is in great form, she has a lot of experience in this race and we can count on her again. Lore was third in Chambéry on Sunday and we’re curious to see what she can do here, and the same goes for Tess (NEWS: Tess has been promoted to the WorldTour team) , who’ll be at the start of her first World Tour race. It’s a well-balanced team and we hope for a good outing and result”, said AG Insurance - Soudal sports manager Jolien D’hoore.
