AG Insurance - Soudal to Scheldeprijs

Four World Tour and two Devo riders will show the team colors at the Belgian one-day race.

Our riders have been protagonists at the past two editions of Scheldeprijs, bringing home a top ten on each occasion, so naturally, the team will aim again to fight for a good result at this sixth edition. Scheduled on Wednesday, over a 130.3km parcours starting and finishing in Schoten, the race features five cobblestone stretches, but that shouldn’t prevent the peloton from making sure it all comes down to a mass gallop, as is usually the case here.

AG Insurance - Soudal will field a team consisting of World Tour and Devo riders, a squad capable of making its presence felt in the crucial part of the day: Fauve Bastiaenssen, Anya Louw, Nicole Steigenga and Gladys Verhulst-Wild will be joined at the start by Messane Bräutigam and Marith Vanvohe, who impressed last year by finishing in eighth place.

“Scheldeprijs is a race for the sprinters. It’s still two days away, but the weather doesn’t show any wind at the moment, which means a large group will be there at the finish, fighting for the victory or a top ten. We have a strong and motivated team, and we’re confident these riders are capable of getting themselves in the mix for another solid result”, said sports director Fien Delbaere, who will lead the squad from the car.
