AG Insurance – Soudal to Setmana Femenina

Our team has many great memories from Setmana Ciclista Volta Femenina de la Comunitat Valenciana. Three years ago, we finished a fantastic 1-2 in the general classification, won a stage and the climber’s jersey, making that edition a truly unforgettable one. Now, AG Insurance – Soudal returns to the start and is determined to once again leave its mark on the four-day event taking place between 12-15 February.

Runner-up here in 2023, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio makes her first appearance for the squad since becoming National ITT Champion earlier this month, and is set to be joined at the start by newcomer Letizia Borghesi – who is debuting in the AG Insurance – Soudal colors – Alana Castrique, Lore De Schepper, Urska Zigart, as well as Devo riders Tess Moerman and Emma Siegers.

The route doesn’t have an uphill finish or an individual time trial, but features ten classified climbs, including Port d’Ain and Port de l’Oronet, and plenty of other hills which should play a big role this week, especially as they will force the riders to attack from the distance in order to make the difference and gain time in the overall standings.

“It’s a race with a quite challenging course, but we have a very good team, comprising several riders – Urska, Ashleigh and Lore – who can fight for a good result in the general classification. We can’t wait to see Letizia in action, as she is eager to get her season underway, but also our two Devo riders, for whom it will be a good experience. We are confident in our chances and ready to do our best”, said sports director Stijn Steels.
