AG Insurance – Soudal to the Ladies Tour

The five-day race takes place between 16-20 July.

Following an incredible Giro d’Italia – where our team took two stages, third overall, the QOM classification and best squad prize – AG Insurance – Soudal returns to action, on home soil this time, for the 11th edition of the Ladies Tour.

The race will be a sprinter-friendly one, giving plenty of opportunities to the peloton’s fast riders, but the general classification is expected to be shaped by the almost 14 kilometers of individual time trial spread over two days. Our line-up for the five-day event will consist of Leonie Bentveld, Billy Goosens, Marthe Goossens – a silver medalist at the Belgian ITT Championships this season – Nina Lavenu, Emma Siegers and Nicole Steigenga.

“It’s a nice race, which we’ll start with a strong mix of World Tour and U23 riders. We hope to get some nice results with Nicole and Marthe. For the young girls, it will be a good opportunity to gain some experience and see how it is to race five days in a row. When it comes to the parcours, the second time trial should be decisive for the final outcome, but also the weather could play a role in the fight for the general classification, especially if we’ll have some crosswinds at some point during the race”, said AG Insurance – Soudal sports director Fien Delbaere.
