In the first stage of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, our team experienced both triumph and setback. While we celebrated a stage victory, we were unfortunately confronted with the crash of our lead rider, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio.

With just 600 meters to go, Ashleigh was involved in a crash that forced her to withdraw from the race. She was immediately taken to the hospital for further examination.

Following subsequent medical examinations, it was revealed that Ashleigh has suffered a back injury. This injury means she will need to focus on her recovery and will not be able to start in the upcoming races, including the Giro Donne.

For now, Ashleigh will cautiously begin to rebuild her training routine, week by week. In the coming weeks, she will assess her progress with the medical team to gradually resume her training sessions. Our team continues to support Ashleigh during her recovery process. We wish her a swift and smooth recovery.

“Things are going a lot better now, and I’m feeling very positive after my visit with the specialist yesterday. I'm really optimistic that I can be back racing in August. Of course, I need to take care and prioritize my recovery, but I think it's also good to have a solid goal to work towards. It gives me motivation and positive energy”, said an optimistic Ashleigh.
