AG Insurance – Soudal heading towards the VAM-berg

The AG Insurance - Soudal elite team is gearing up for an exciting challenge at the Miron Women's WorldTour Ronde van Drenthe this coming Sunday.

Since its first edition in 2016, the Ronde van Drenthe has evolved into a key event on the cycling calendar. Our selection for this race includes Maaike Boogaard, Julia Borgström, Marthe Goossens, Gaia Masetti, Maud Rijnbeek, and Ilse Pluimers. Ilse has some great memories from the region, having crowned herself as the European Champion in the U23 category on the road atop the VAM-berg.

The start of the race will be given in Makkum, after which a course of 158.1 kilometers will lead the peloton to the VAM-berg in Wijster. This year, the race is characterized by an demandind parcours around the landfill, with five laps of approximately 29 km each and a total of six ascents of the VAM-berg. The race will conclude atop the iconic climb following a demanding cobblestone section.

“I am really looking forward to the Ronde van Drenthe. It's fantastic that we are racing around the VAM-berg again and I expect a challenging race. The finish on top of the VAM-berg always makes it extra special and ensures a unique experience. Moreover, I have wonderful memories of the VAM-berg, which adds an extra dimension to every race there for me.
