AG Insurance – Soudal racing through Zeeland

The EPZ Omloop van Borsele taking place between 19-21 April. The event, which will feature the AG Insurance - Soudal cycling team at the start, takes place in and around the picturesque 's-Heerenhoek on the Kuijpersdijk in Borsele. This area is known for its challenging course through the Zeeland landscape. The unique three-day structure of the race for junior women attracts teams from various countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and even Canada and the United States.
The 37th edition for the Junior Women includes a 14.2 kilometer time trial on Friday, followed by a 72.9 kilometer circuit on Saturday, And a final day where the riders will tackle a 76.8km course, all starting and finishing in 's-Heerenhoek. The 39th edition for the elite women takes place on April 20 and covers a course of 133.5 kilometers, divided into multiple rounds.
AG Insurance - Soudal, who last year took a win with Ilse Pluimers in the Elite ITT, will be represented by a strong selection. The U19 team consists of Auke De Buysser, Roos Müller, Luca Vierstraete, Jente Koops, and Fee Knaven, while the elite race will feature the following U23 riders: Margot Marasco, Febe Jooris, Mirre Knaven, Julia Kopecky, and Laura Lizette Sander.
“Today, I start the time trial together with Mirre and Febe, which is 20 kilometers long. The course promises to be challenging, especially because of the strong wind. We need to be extra cautious with the crosswinds and the final section, where we'll face headwinds, will be particularly tough. However, I am looking forward to it; this time trial is an important preparation for the time trials I will be facing in future stage races.”
“Saturday brings the road race. It is a typical flat Dutch course. The last time I raced here, it ended in a sprint, which is what I expect this Saturday as well. The wind will undoubtedly play a major role again, so it's crucial to stay at the front and be wary of echelons. During my time in the juniors, I also raced the stage race in Borsele and I won this stage solo. Although it's difficult, it shows that it's indeed possible to reach the finish alone. I'm really looking forward to it!” said Julia Kopecky.
