Alex Manly sprints to fourth place at Tour Down Under One Day Race

AG Insurance - Soudal delivered another strong team performance at the Tour Down Under One Day Race, where Alex Manly powered to an impressive fourth place after an aggressive and well-executed race. The result adds to a positive start of the season, with the Australian campaign continuing in the days ahead.

From the very start, the team showed its intent to race on the front foot. The high pace, warm conditions and constant positioning battles made it a demanding day, but AG Insurance - Soudal remained attentive and proactive throughout the race. The riders worked together to stay ahead of the key moves, covering attacks and keeping Alex well-positioned as the finale approached.

Wind played a decisive role in the closing kilometers, increasing the importance of timing and positioning. Thanks to strong teamwork, Alex was guided safely through the nervous final phase and entered the sprint in a good position. She delivered a powerful finish to secure fourth place in a fast and chaotic sprint, in a race that was also marked by a few crashes.

After the finish, Alex Manly reflected positively on the team effort and the racing approach:

“Today was a really fun race with the team. We tried to be ahead of the race, be aggressive and just race instinctively, which I think we did really well. In the final the girls looked after me early really well, which was very important with the wind so then I could find my way in the final. I’m super grateful for the opportunity, all the girls’ help, and I am happy I was in the mix. There were a few crashes so I’m hoping the girls are ok who came down.”

With this fourth place, AG Insurance - Soudal carries confidence and momentum into the final races of the Australian block, which continues with the Surf Coast Classic and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
