Auke De Buysser secures third place and the intermediate sprints jersey at Omloop van Borsele

Auke De Buysser of AG Insurance - Soudal clinched an impressive third place on the second day of the Omloop van Borsele for juniors. In addition to her podium finish, Auke also secured the jersey for the intermediate sprints, marking another successful day for the team in this three-day cycling event.

The race conditions were quite challenging, particularly due to the strong wind that severely tested the riders. On Saturday, a 72.9-kilometer course awaited them, with the wind acting as a relentless adversary.

For Auke, this third place is a valuable addition to her spring season, having achieved a total of five podium finishes since the start of the year.

"The race was fast, and staying at the front was tough; I was constantly looking for openings. The intermediate sprints went well, and I crossed the finish line first multiple times. Towards the final sprint, there was a lot of pushing, and I lost Jente's wheel, forcing me to fight my way from the back to the front. I had to take some risks and expended a lot of energy, after which I had to sprint all out immediately. I managed to finish third," said a satisfied Auke.
