AG Insurance - Soudal Dominates in the Adsteeg Omloop Beek

The junior team of AG Insurance - Soudal put on a show at the Adsteeg Omloop Beek, a crucial part of the KNWU Future Cup 2024, held in the picturesque region of South Limburg. Auke De Buysser took the victory in the sprint on Sunday, leading home a memorable 1-2 for the team. With this win, she immediately took the lead in the competition, earning the right to wear the leader's orange jersey. Fee Knaven followed in second, while Ella Heremans took a solid fourth place, just behind Alexandra Volstad of Watersley, who rounded out the podium.

The Future Cup, known for bringing together top talent from various categories, namely novices and juniors, has eight races on the agenda this year, including two multi-day events. The course of the Adsteeg Omloop Beek consisted of 11 laps of 3.5 km each, totaling 38.5 kilometers. It was characterized not only by the challenging climb of the Adsteeg in each laps but also by the finish at the top of this climb.

“I am incredibly happy with this victory, especially because there were many strong competitors and the course was both beautiful and challenging. Fortunately, the last kilometers were manageable because I was able to recover a bit. During the race, I attacked a lot, but I never managed to really break away. Then, Roos managed to escape for a few laps. In the last 200 meters, we caught up with the leaders and I was able to start my sprint”, said an elated Auke.
