Eline Van Rooijen adds GP Yvonne Reynders to her palmares

AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step rider Eline van Rooijen took victory in a sprint finish at GP Yvonne Reynders. After 6 local laps in Noorderwijk, good for a total of 131.4 km, the Dutch Eline can crown herself the strongest in the sprint with a group of 8 riders, beating Sanne Cant in to 2nd place. This is a strong performance from our U23 rider, who joined our development team in 2022.

“This victory gives me a great feeling, especially because it is my first race at UCI level. We have really done a great job with the team and we can take the benefits of it at the end of the day. Our team was part of the breakaway, so I was able to jump to that leading group in time. I entered the last round with an exciting and nervous feeling, since our group only had strong riders. In addition, I also suffered from a muscle cramp at the end, but I still managed to squeeze out a sprint at the right time. This win is completely unexpected, which makes the victory even more beautiful”, says Eline.
