The second stage of the Baloise Ladies Tour took place on Friday in Zulte, East Flanders, which welcomed the peloton for the fourth consecutive year. The flat course covered a distance of 126,8 kilometers, during which AG Insurance – Soudal rider Febe Jooris managed to retain her top spot in the young rider classification. Febe has been leading the young rider classification since day one and will defend the white jersey for another day on Saturday.

It was a steady day in the peloton. The stage ended in a bunch sprint, with the victory going to Charlotte Kool. Second and third places were claimed by Daria Pikulik and Sara Fiorin, respectively.

Today, the stage was a bit tougher on paper. As a team, we tried to stay together as much as possible, which worked better than yesterday. At certain moments, we held back to move up in the final lap. This strategy worked well, and we managed to stay with the bigger teams. Towards the last roundabout, things got quite hectic, and I tried to position Maaike as best as I could. Unfortunately, she got boxed in during the sprint, but overall, I think we can say it was a good day for the team”, Febe said after the race.
