On December 9th, the AG Insurance – Soudal team, together with Soudal Quick-Step, headed to the sunny Suitopia Sol Y Mar hotel in Calpe. This training camp marked the official start of preparations for the 2025 cycling season.

The camp was all about getting to know each other better, with the team welcoming five new faces: Alex Manly, Urska Zigart, Gladys Verhulst, Alana Castrique, and Fauve Bastiaenssen. It was the perfect opportunity to forge new friendships and give the team spirit a boost.

In addition to the intense training rides, the camp was packed with activities to prepare the riders for the new season. Media days featuring energetic photoshoots and creative content creation were complemented by comprehensive medical check-ups, including cardiology tests and consultations with a dermatologist, dentist, pelvic floor specialist, and other medical experts. There were also discussions focused on mental resilience, ensuring that both body and mind are fully prepared for the challenges of 2025. Everything was carefully planned to ensure the riders approach the new season with confidence.

The moment when the riders received their new Castelli race outfits and Specialized bikes was eagerly anticipated. The outfits were proudly worn immediately, while the bikes were ready to be tested during training sessions.

The training rides themselves focused not only on endurance, with long rides, but also on explosiveness through intensive interval sessions in the hills surrounding Calpe. The Mediterranean Sea and the warm winter sun provided the perfect backdrop for reaching peak condition.

On Friday, December 20th, this successful camp came to an end. The riders returned home, scattering across the globe—from destinations like Mauritius to cities such as Girona and Nice, and home bases spanning from Australia to Europe. They returned to various corners of the world to spend the holidays with family and friends, while recharging for the demanding cycling season ahead.

With this strong start, the team looks forward to a promising 2025 cycling season with confidence.
