Only a few more races remain in the calendar of our team until we bring this successful season to a conclusion, and the first of these will be the Giro dell’Emilia. Scheduled this Saturday, over a 111.3km route starting in Ferrara and finishing in Bologna - home to the oldest university of the world - the Italian event is known for its difficulty and explosive finale.

Four climbs are on the course of this edition, with the mythical San Luca featuring twice. Attacks are expected to come the first time the peloton tackles it, 100 kilometers into the race, but the last two kilometers, where the average gradients exceed 9%, is where everything will be decided. There will be no places to hide and no moment of respite, which means gaps will open instantly before the finish line.

Fauve Bastiaenssen, Sarah Gigante, Nina Lavenu, Anya Louw, and Nicole Steigenga are the five AG Insurance - Soudal riders who’ll be in action this weekend, and sports director Dani Christmas is confident in the team’s chances: “We head to Italy with a strong squad ready to give their best in order to fight for a good result. Everyone is highly motivated to put in their best performance in this race and we are confident we can be in the mix again”, said sports director Dani Christmas.
