Gladys Verhulst-Wild sprints to fourth place in Le Samyn des Dames

On Tuesday AG Insurance – Soudal lined up for the 14th edition of Le Samyn des Dames, a challenging one-day race starting in Quaregnon and finishing in Dour, covering a total distance of 122 kilometers.
The riders faced a varied course where cobbled sections and climbs played a key role. With 107 kilometers to go, they entered a local circuit, with challenging sectors such as Côte des Nonnettes and Rue de Belle Vue added an extra level of difficulty.

Strong teamwork and an aggressive race
Gladys Verhulst-Wild sprinted to an impressive fourth place, after a day in which AG Insurance – Soudal raced strongly and aggressively. The team was present in all key breakaways and remained active at the front of the peloton throughout the race.
"I’m happy with this race," Gladys said afterward. "It was a tough race, full gas from start to finish. We knew it could be a hard day, but the whole team rode really well today. We raced aggressively and were present in every breakaway. It was a very good day for us."
During the race, a crash happened right in front of Gladys, but she fortunately managed to stay upright. "I had to chase back, but Fauve and Marthe helped me return to the bunch. I’m really grateful to them!"
