AG Insurance - Soudal to GP Oetingen
Our team is looking forward to taking on some more cobbles this week.
GP Oetingen is one of the most exciting races of the month when it comes to the parcours it puts on the table. Starting in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and finishing in Oetingen after 140 kilometers, this demanding one-day race - which is longer than last year - has a beautiful mix of cobbled segments and punchy terrain that the attackers will love.
Once again, Zavelberg (700 meters, 4%) will be the main difficulty of the day, the climb that can be used as springboard by those hoping to make the difference and open a decisive gap, especially as the last ascent of this hill comes just three kilometers from the finish.
AG Insurance - Soudal has been a key protagonist in all the one-day races of this season so far, and our riders aim to be again in the mix on home soil. Alana Castrique, Marthe Goossens, who finished runner-up at the Samyn Ladies, Ilse Pluimers, Nicole Steigenga, Gladys Verhulst-Wild and Marith Vanhove will be in action for our squad on Wednesday, at this sixth edition.

“Oetingen is a beautiful cobbled race, and we want to show the same commitment and determination that we have displayed in Omloop and Samyn. We go there with a strong team. Gladys, Marthe and Ilse can fight for a good result, with the support of a strong and extremely motivated team, and this makes us confident in our chances”, said sports director Stijn Steels.
