Julia Kopecky takes gold at the Nationals

Thursday was another great day for AG Insurance - Soudal at the National Championships, where our riders racked up two medals in the time trial.

In the Czech city of Jevíčko, Julia Kopecky secured a well deserved gold medal after putting in a solid display in the 31 kilometer race. Victorious this season in the Tour de Feminin, Julia finished eight seconds ahead of Nikola Nosková (Cofidis Women Team), while Jana Milec Jiřincová rounded out the podium.

In Belgium, Marthe Goossens claimed the silver medal in the ITT race held in Binche, over a 19,3 kilometer course. The win went to Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx – Protime) and the third place was taken by Norbert Riberolle Marion (Fenix – Deceuninck Development Team). Julie Van de Velde finished in fifth place.

A happy Marthe said after the time trial: “Today, unlike the past few weeks, the weather was beautiful with sunshine and a pleasant temperature. The course started with a technical section and transitioned into wide lanes, ending with a stretch of strong headwind, which made it challenging. As I have been struggling with a cold for several weeks, I didn't know what to expect. However, the training went well, and it showed with this second place. I am very pleased with it!”
