From 2024, Julie will showcase her cycling skills for AG Insurance - Soudal Quick-Step, making the transition from the Fenix-Deceuninck cycling team. Julie has consistently left her mark in recent years, with highlights such as her escape and solo ride of over 60 kilometers in the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, captivating many supporters. Her primary focus in the new team will be on her role as a climber.

Julie Van de Velde shared the following with us: “I got a great opportunity to join AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step; I immediately felt the confidence in my abilities. What also appeals to me about this team is the professionalism combined with a family atmosphere. It's also beautiful to see how the team has grown in recent years, with special attention to the youth. I truly admire building something beautiful from the youth.”

“I hope to make a valuable contribution to the team's ambitions, especially in challenging climbing races. My goal is to support the team in achieving great results. Having my own opportunities as a free spirit would be fantastic. I see my role in the new team as highly versatile. As a helper in tougher races, I want to add value, while as a free spirit, I eagerly participate in breakaways to compete for stage wins or to put my teammates in a favorable position.”

“The day before Julie's long escape in the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, I sent her a message to inquire if she had a contract for the upcoming year. Julie was immediately enthusiastic. I believe we can get even more from Julie than what she has shown so far. She is a true powerhouse with a passion for the race and her teammates. Julie is highly coachable and very eager to learn. We look forward to working with her, especially for the Walloon races and stage races”, said Team Manager Natascha den Ouden.
