Laura Lizette Sander wins second consecutive gold medal

AG Insurance – Soudal’s Laura Lizette Sander has achieved another outstanding victory, securing a gold medal in the U23 road race for the second day in a row at the national championships.

The 60,6 kilometer course, like on Tuesday, had both the start and finish in Varbuse. Midway through the race, Laura Lizette decided to attack, resulting in an impressive 30 kilometer solo ride.

Second and third places were taken by Aidi Gerde Tuisk (Team Coop – Repsol) and Elina Tasane (Doltcini O'Shea), respectively.

On Tuesday, Laura Lizette also won gold in the elite time trial. We look forward to Saturday, June 22, when she will again be at the start for the Estonian Road Championship in the elite category, where she will defend her title.

Laura Lizette Sander responded to her victory: “The course consisted of three laps of 20 kilometers, with mainly rolling sections. I attacked with 30 kilometers to go, which resulted in a victory. It felt good, and I was surprised that I got away alone. Now it’s time to give it my all on Saturday at the Elite Road Championship.”
