Maaike finishes 3rd in GP Oetingen

Maaike finishes 3rd on the podium in GP Oetingen, a race that would normally be held earlier this year, but was canceled on March 8 due to heavy snowfall. Along the Pajotse hills and the Oetingse cobblestones, our riders were covered a race of 119 km.

“Today was an aggressive race from the team, where Justine first put herself in front together with Julie De Wilde to make the race hard. After that, Maaike managed to position herself at the front of the leading group to compete for the win in the end. A difficult race with great teamwork and eventually Maaike finished in a nice 3rd place. In short, a good and fantastic race from the entire team”, said sports director Jolien D'hoore

“I felt really good today and planned to race offensively, as we really wanted to open up the finale. At one point it was every rider for herself on this tough course. After Simone Boilard, who eventually took the stage win, and Evi Kuijpers rode away from me, I was fortunately able to stay ahead of the peloton and ride to a solid third place. I conclude this day with a positive feeling that makes me look forward with a lot of confidence to the Tour of Scandinavia”, said Maaike Boogaard.
