Marith Vanhove claims maiden UCI victory in Beveren after dominant team display

Marith Vanhove celebrated the biggest victory of her young career on Sunday by claiming her first-ever UCI win in Beveren. The AG Insurance - Soudal Devo Team rider capped off a superb weekend with an impressive sprint victory after another outstanding collective performance from the team.

From the very start, the squad controlled the race with confidence, always positioning themselves at the front of the peloton and responding to every key move. Their strength throughout the day laid the perfect foundation for Vanhove, who finished off the team's hard work with a memorable victory.

For the Belgian, the result is the fulfilment of a long-held dream.

Marith Vanhove: "The team was even stronger today than yesterday. We were always at the front with everyone, always in control, and everybody was able to do their job perfectly. Everyone was incredibly strong. To finish such a great weekend with my first UCI victory is really the icing on the cake.

I'm so happy that I could reward all their hard work with the win. I'm incredibly proud of every single one of them.

I still can't quite believe it. I always looked up to riders who could win UCI races and only dreamed that one day I might be able to do the same. Just being there and sprinting for the victory already felt amazing, so to end the weekend with the win is simply unbelievable.

Over the past two years, I've taken huge steps forward with this team, and I'm incredibly grateful for all the opportunities they've given me and the belief they've shown in me."

The victory marks an important milestone in Vanhove's development and highlights the progress she has made since joining the AG Insurance - Soudal Devo Team. It is also a reward for the collective strength the team demonstrated throughout the weekend, with every rider playing a key role in setting up the winning finale.
