Our Juniors shine at Provincial Time Trial Championships

Thursday was a memorable day for the juniors of AG Insurance-Soudal at the Provincial Time Trial Championships. Our young and talented team delivered an impressive performance by securing no less than four podium places, proving their hard work and determination.

In West Flanders, Luca Vierstraete charged to the top with a first-place finish, while Fee Knaven followed suit with her own victory in her province. Ella Heremans and Auke De Buysscher also demonstrated their class by respectively taking silver in Antwerp and East Flanders. Despite the adverse weather conditions and strong competition, they managed to score remarkable results.

After her victory, Fee Knaven said: “The time trial was only seven kilometers long, but the rain and wind made it much more challenging. Fortunately, everything went smoothly, and I felt like I delivered a strong time trial. This experience was an excellent preparation for the Borsele time trial, which is scheduled for two weeks from now.”

Luca Vierstraete added: “Despite the short distance of just 6 km, the strong wind made it a challenging time trial. Luckily, I was able to maintain the power. It was fun, although I would have preferred it if the distance had been a bit longer. The organization opted for a shorter distance to save time for the ladies. Nonetheless, I’m super happy with my victory!”
