This weekend, the elite and junior squads of AG Insurance - Soudal will be at the starting line of the Trofeo Alfredo Binda and Piccolo Trofeo Alfredo Binda. The course for the elite riders spans 140.5 kilometers, starting in Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca and finishing in Cittiglio. After 52 kilometers, the course transitions into five local laps of 17.7 kilometers each, with Queen of the Mountain points up for grabs on the climbs of Masciago Primo, Casale, and Orino.

The Trofeo Alfredo Binda, named after the cycling legend and first road World Champion Alfredo Binda, is a race with a rich history and a unique place in Italy. Since its first edition in 1974, the race has evolved into an internationally recognized event, and has been part of the U.C.I. Women World Tour since 2016.

The AG Insurance - Soudal selection consists of Mireia Benito, Justine Ghekiere, Sarah Gigante, Kim Le Court, and Julie Van De Velde, all ready to take on the challenge and compete for victory.

“I'm really looking forward to it. Finishing in the top 10 last year, it's definitely a race that suits me. After a somewhat difficult start to the season, I hope to find the right feeling here again. My form is really good at the moment, so I hope to show myself on Sunday. I would especially like to ride a strong finale again, and if I see a chance, I will go for it 100%. We're starting with a top team, so I'm hopeful that we can achieve something beautiful on Sunday”, said Justine.

In addition to our elite riders, our juniors will also participate in the Piccolo Trofeo Alfredo Binda, a 74.4-kilometer race. Our young talents in action on Italian soil will be Auke De Buysser, Ella Heremans, Jente Koops, Roos Muller, Luca Vierstraete, and guest rider Eirini Papadimitriou, all eager to showcase their potential.
