Ilse Pluimers from AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step participated in the ‘Metec’ National field cross in Almelo on Saturday and the National Cross in Nijverdal on Sunday, both located in the province of Overijsel, in the Netherlands.

She clinched the podium twice, securing a second place after six rounds in Almelo on Saturday, finishing just 48 seconds behind the winner, Julia van der Meulen. On Sunday, Ilse achieved a fantastic victory after 8 rounds, with a lead of an impressive 30 seconds over Sera Gademan, who finished second.

"The races from this past weekend were quite a challenge. Yesterday felt like a true mud-cross, a completely different experience from road races. I truly noticed that the other riders have a lot of experience and had built a substantial lead. It was tough to keep up with their pace, and I was really pushing my limits. Today, it was a faster race, and I felt stronger. I tried to ride more conservatively because it was a 50-minute cross, and that worked well. My body adapted and I could push harder towards the end, allowing me to secure the win. It really feels good!" said Ilse.
