AG Insurance – Soudal to Paris-Roubaix

Our squad hopes for another strong outing at one of the season’s most important races.

The fifth edition of the “Hell of the North” awaits the peloton on Saturday with 17 cobblestone sectors and a total of 29.3 kilometers of pavé. The most difficult segments will be Hornaing, Sars-et-Rosières, Mons-en-Pévèle, Camphin-en-Pévèle and Carrefour de l’Arbre, the last of these coming less than twenty kilometers from the mythical Vélodrome André-Pétrieux, where this prestigious classic finishes.

With the confidence buoyed by the team’s excellent displays and results in Milano-Sanremo and Ronde van Vlaanderen, AG Insurance – Soudal will take on the 148.5km Paris-Roubaix with a strong and motivated seven-rider squad comprising Fauve Bastiaenssen, Julia Borgström, Marthe Goossens, Nicole Steigenga, Ilse Pluimers, and Gladys Verhulst-Wild, a top ten finisher just a few weeks ago in Gent-Wevelgem.

“Paris-Roubaix is one of the biggest events on the calendar, and a race that is important to us. In the previous cobbled races of this spring, we took some strong results and featured in the finale, and that’s exactly what we hope to do on Saturday. The riders are determined to give their best and we want to do another solid race”, said sports director Stijn Steels, who will lead the team from the car.
