Shari Bossuyt sprints to 6th place after fast finish in Poitiers
After a fast and dynamic stage of 130.7 kilometers from Saumur to Poitiers, Shari Bossuyt delivered a strong sprint to claim, a back-to-back, 6th place in stage 4 of the Tour de France Femmes, after she took the same result in yesterday's third stage.
The team rode attentively throughout the day, staying safe in the bunch and working together to keep Kim in a good position. In the final kilometers, Kim Le Court took on the role of last lead-out rider, bringing Shari in position heading into the final meters.
"Towards the final it was really hectic but in the last 3km Kim put me in a good position going towards the last corners. There was a steep part in the final with a downhill towards the finish line. At that moment everything went super fast. In the end I was a bit boxed in, but that was my own mistake. I'm happy with the result but also a bit disappointed now, because I think a better result was possible. I want to thank the team for the support today, putting me in a good position in the final", Shari said after the stage.
The entire team completed the stage safely, where Julie was held up with a small crash but fortunately she could continue without any issue.
Kim Le Court-Pienaar is now in third place in the general classification, 12 seconds behind Marianne Vos.
