Strong Start for AG Insurance - Soudal at the EPZ Omloop van Borsele

On the opening day of the 39th EPZ Omloop van Borsele, the riders of AG Insurance - Soudal put in impressive performances. In the elite race, where Ellen van Dijk took first place, Julia Kopecky and Febe Jooris finished second and third respectively in the time trial over a distance of 20.6 kilometers.

At the same time, Fee Knaven secured a remarkable third place in the juniors time trial, which also took place on Friday, April 19th.

The event, continuing until April 21st, is held in the picturesque 's-Heerenhoek on Kuijpersdijk in Borsele and annually attracts top riders who compete over the challenging Zeeland landscape. With several races still to go, the team is enthusiastic and confident about their prospects in the coming days.

“First of all, I'm extremely satisfied with this result, but also with the performance of our entire team. We ended up with four of us in the top seven, which is really a top achievement for all of us. It was a tough time trial, especially because of the wind. Sometimes I really had to clamp down on the handlebars to keep from being blown away. I noticed that I could manage my speed well and keep it high. In the end, I achieved second place, and together with Febe, I stood on the podium next to time trial icon Ellen van Dijk, which was a huge honor”, Julia added.
