Strong team performance in Stage 6 as Sarah retains QOM jersey

Stage 6 of the Giro d’Italia Women took the riders from San Benedetto del Tronto to Chieti, featuring a demanding course and a punchy finale. Our team delivered a solid collective effort, with Sarah Gigante once again stepping into the spotlight by successfully defending her QOM jersey.

“I want to thank my teammates once again because they supported me really well,” said Sarah after the finish. “I’m happy I could keep the jersey, and I’m proud of how we performed together as a team.”

Urška Žigart and Ashleigh Moolman Pasio also rode strong and finished in the chase group alongside the GC favorites. The stage win went to Liane Lippert, but our riders lost no time to the majority of their GC rivals.

Unfortunately, Lore De Schepper was involved in a crash, luckily she could continue the stage.

“I feel sorry for Lore because she’s been riding such a strong Giro,” Sarah added. “Tomorrow is the queen stage with 3,000+ meters of climbing, so as a team we’re motivated to give it everything.”

The team heads into the queen stage with confidence and determination, building on a strong showing in today’s stage, where our AG Insurance - Soudal team is still leading the team classification.
