Successful surgery for Sarah Gigante

AG Insurance – Soudal rider Sarah Gigante underwent a procedure this week to address an iliac artery endofibrosis. The surgery went well, and Sarah is now ready to begin her rehabilitation.

Reflecting on the surgery, Sarah said: “I can’t believe how severe the stenosis was, but I’m glad to finally have an explanation for the challenges I’ve faced this year. I’m taking my rehabilitation seriously and will focus equally on rest and training. I’ll come back stronger—having two fully functioning legs will make a big difference!”

Sarah is currently in Australia, where she can count on the support of the Victorian Institute of Sport during her recovery. She is grateful for the support of her friends and family, who are helping her through this process.
