AG Insurance - Soudal to the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2026.
AG Insurance - Soudal has unveiled its seven-rider squad for the fifth edition of Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, with the team heading to the biggest race on the calendar with clear ambitions for the general classification while remaining ready to seize opportunities throughout the nine-day event.
Leading the team will be Kim Le Court-Pienaar, who will target a strong overall classification after what has been another impressive season. The Mauritian Champion – who won a stage and sported the yellow jersey for four days at the previous edition - will be supported in the mountains by former polka dot jersey winner Justine Ghekiere and Urška Žigart, while the experienced Mireia Benito, a double National Champion this year, will play a crucial role throughout the race thanks to her strength and tactical awareness.
The versatile Letizia Borghesi and newly crowned Belgian Champion Shari Bossuyt complete a strong core for the flatter and more unpredictable stages. Should the race come down to a reduced bunch sprint, Bossuyt's finishing speed – which she displayed several times this season - gives the team another valuable card to play. Completing the line-up is debutant Lore De Schepper, who continues her rapid development after gaining valuable Grand Tour experience earlier this season at both the Giro d'Italia Women and La Vuelta Femenina.
The fifth edition of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will take place between 1-9 August and cover 1,175 kilometres across nine stages. Beginning in Lausanne (Switzerland) before finishing in Nice (France), the race features a varied route combining sprint opportunities, hilly terrain, an individual time trial and two demanding mountain stages.
After three stages in Switzerland, the peloton heads into France, where the battle for the general classification is expected to intensify. The 21km individual time trial on stage four will offer the specialists an important opportunity before the race reaches its decisive phase.
One of the defining moments of this year's edition will undoubtedly come on stage 7, when the peloton will tackle the legendary Mont Ventoux for the very first time. With more than 3,500 metres of climbing and a summit finish atop one of cycling's most iconic ascents, the stage is expected to play a key role in deciding the yellow jersey.
Sports Manager Jolien D'hoore believes the team's versatility will be one of its greatest strengths throughout the race.
"We head into the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift with a very balanced team. Kim Le Court-Pienaar will be our leader for the general classification, supported by Justine Ghekiere and Urška Žigart, who both have the climbing qualities to make a real difference in the mountains. Mireia Benito brings a wealth of experience and will play an important role in supporting Kim throughout the race.
For the more demanding and unpredictable stages, we can count on Letizia Borghesi and our newly crowned Belgian Champion Shari Bossuyt. Shari has shown she still possesses a strong sprint, so if an opportunity arises in a reduced bunch finish, she will certainly be one of our cards to play.
We are also delighted to give Lore De Schepper another opportunity to continue her development at the highest level. After gaining valuable experience in both the Giro d'Italia Women and La Vuelta Femenina, she now gets the chance to race the biggest event in women's cycling, which is another important step in her progression.
Our objective is clear: to support Kim and aim for a strong general classification. The level of competition will be incredibly high, but that's exactly what makes the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift so special. We want to race aggressively from day one, seize every opportunity that comes our way and make the most of our collective strength. If we perform as a team and everyone reaches their level, I'm convinced we can have a very successful Tour."
