On the third day of the Giro d’Italia Women, AG Insurance – Soudal delivered a strong performance with Kim Le Court and Lore De Schepper both finishing in the top fifteen. Tuesday’s stage started in Sabbioneta and concluded with an uphill finish in Toano, following a challenging twelve-kilometer climb. After 113 kilometers in warm weather conditions, Niamh Fisher-Black emerged victorious, while Kim took a solid tenth. Her teammate, Lore De Schepper, finished just outside the top ten after a strong display.

With this performance, Kim Le Court has moved into the top 10 in the general classification, and Lore De Schepper is now third in the young rider classification.

The plan from the start of the race up to kilometer 77 was for four riders to go on the attack if larger groups formed. The pace was quite high at the beginning with several attacks, but no large group managed to break away. From kilometer 77 onwards, we focused on the final climb, aiming to bring Kim and Lore to the front in the best possible position. Unfortunately, just before the climb, there was a crash involving Julia Borgström.

The other riders did an excellent job of bringing Lore and Kim to the front. They performed very well, finishing tenth and eleventh. We can be very satisfied with this result, as Kim is now tenth in the general classification and Lore is third in the young rider classification. This bodes well for the coming days”, said sports director Fien Delbaere after the race.
