Top-5 for our Dutch Maaike Boogaard

Saturday afternoon Maaike Boogaard rode to the fifth place amongst the best time trial riders of the world in Denmark after a solid time trial of 16.4 kilometers.
For the fourth stage, the riders will have to cross the water towards Denmark to complete an individual race against the clock, competing for 16.4km in the streets of Herning. Technical steering skills in particular will be put to the test in the center of Herning.
“The last few days I had some stomach problems, so I went without high expectations into this individual time trial. Luckely I felt really good today and in the end it went better than expected. I explored the streets ealier today, so I knew that the course suited me well and I could certainly lose my power, which, in combination with good coaching from Servais in the support car, ensured a good result. Eventually a time trial is an individual battle with yourself and to ride a top-5 result in this strong field of riders, is a nice confirmation that my form is quite good. My highlight of today, of course, was that I was allowed to sit in the hot seat for a while. So, it's a good day for me”, said a cheerful Maaike.
