On Wednesday, January 29, the riders of AG Insurance – Soudal competed in their penultimate race on Australian soil - the Surf Coast Classic - before heading home after nearly a month there.

The race covered 118,6 kilometers from Lorne to Torquay, featuring an early challenge in Silk Hill, a 10-kilometer climb. After an animated race with multiple attacks, the peloton ultimately battled for victory in a bunch sprint. Alex Manly, supported by strong teamwork, crossed the line in a solid fifth place, as the win went to Ally Wollaston (FDJ-SUEZ).

Alex Manly: "We are happy with how we raced as a team"

After the race, Alex Manly reflected on the team’s performance: "The race was animated all the way to the finish, and we had Julie in every move. The other girls kept me safe and in a good position all day. I would have loved to reward the team with more than fifth place, but I was in the mix, and we are really happy with how we rode as a team, especially in the key moments. I’m very grateful for the girls' commitment and hard work today."
