On Sunday, AG Insurance – Soudal lined up at the start of the eighth edition of the GP Beerens in the province of Antwerp, under warm and summery temperatures.

The race kicked off on the first of September in Wilrijk and concluded in Aartselaar. The route took the riders through the picturesque Rupel region and the De Schorre recreation area, which they crossed six times after an 8-kilometer lead-in followed by six laps of 21,5 kilometers each, bringing the total distance to 137 kilometers.

With a group of 24 riders, including three from AG Insurance – Soudal, our riders were able to break away from the peloton and build a solid lead. This group of riders then headed towards the finish, culminating in an exciting sprint. Sofie Van Rooijen crossed the line first, while Marthe Goossens secured an impressive eighth place.

Our riders performed well, with four of them in a group of 24 at the front. Unfortunately, a flat tire for Julia made it more difficult to capitalize on our numbers, but it was great to see our collective presence in the lead group”, said sports director Stijn Steels.
