AG Insurance - Soudal to Ronde van Brugge
Shari Bossuyt leads the line for our team at this ninth edition.
The eighth World Tour race of the season, Ronde van Brugge takes place on Thursday, and despite the altered route and the absence of De Panne and especially the famous De Moeren, it should still be a fast and nervous race.
The new parcours spans 143.7 kilometers and is one for the sprinters, but things could change quickly if strong winds make an appearance, transforming it into a proper Belgian one-day race - eventful, unpredictable and difficult to control.
Our team came close to a top-three finish last week in Nokere Koerse, after going on the offensive, and is motivated to do the same also here, as it goes to the start with a strong squad made up of Shari Bossuyt - a top ten finisher in all four races she has done this season - Fauve Bastiaenssen, Alana Castrique, Anya Louw, Ilse Pluimers, and Gladys Verhulst-Wild.
“It’s a whole new course, which is bound to give a new dynamic to the race. It will be completely different from what we were used to in De Panne and we’re looking forward to seeing what it has in store. If crosswinds occur, it will be even harder, but no matter the scenario, we are ready to take the initiative and not just wait for the sprint, because we are confident in our chances of getting another good result”, said AG Insurance - Soudal sports manager Jolien D’hoore.
