Urška Žigart extends with AG Insurance - Soudal through 2029

AG Insurance - Soudal is delighted to announce that Urška Žigart has extended her contract with the team for a further two seasons, keeping the Slovenian rider with the team through the end of 2029.

Since joining AG Insurance - Soudal, Žigart has developed into one of the team’s key riders for stage races and demanding mountain finishes, while achieving some of the strongest results of her career.

During her first season with AG Insurance - Soudal already produced some impressive results, including at the 2025 Tour de Romandie, where Žigart finished second overall, having taken the yellow leader’s jersey earlier the race. In 2026, she continued that progression with a sixth-place finish at La Vuelta Femenina, her best-ever result in a Grand Tour so far, before adding an eighth-place overall finish at the Giro d’Italia Women, further underlining her ability to compete at the highest level in stage racing.

Beyond her results, Žigart has become an important part of the team through her experience, climbing ability and strong team mentality. Her consistency and commitment have made her a valuable presence within AG Insurance - Soudal, both in the biggest stage races and throughout the wider season.

The contract extension provides Žigart with continuity, while allowing her to continue developing within a team and environment she knows well.
