Victory for Anna Bruneel in Klein-Sinaai, Nina Lavenu second
A strong performance from the AG Insurance – Soudal Devo Team in the U23 race in Klein-Sinaai, where Anna Bruneel sprinted to victory after an impressive finale. Teammate Nina Lavenu completed the team’s success with a fine second place.
The race was animated by several attacks, with Bruneel eventually making it into a leading group of four riders. When Lavenu had briefly gone clear earlier but was caught again by the peloton, Bruneel reacted quickly.
“At first we were four together with Nina. She had gone clear, but the peloton was about to catch her again, so I attacked immediately and one rider followed me. We managed to stay just ahead of the peloton. In the final lap I attacked solo because I felt I was the strongest,” Anna explained after the finish.
Behind the leading duo, the other Devo riders also delivered solid performances. Messane Braütigam finished seventh, Billy Goossens took eighth place, while Helena Jones came home in 43rd position.
