A young squad is ready to take on the fourth edition of this stage race.

Running between 1-5 July, the Volta a Portugal Feminina presents a challenging route, although not as demanding as in previous years, which should make the battle for the general classification an exciting one. Our team heads to Portugal after a strong weekend at the National Championships and, despite fielding a young squad, is confident of playing an important role throughout the five stages.

The squad will consist of WorldTour rider Tess Moerman and six Development Team riders. Emma Siegers, the 21-year-old who impressed with a tenth-place finish at last Sunday's Belgian National Championships won by Shari Bossuyt, will line up alongside Leonie Bentveld, Helena Jones, Nina Lavenu - the newly-crowned French Amateur National Champion - and Amandine Muller. The race gets underway in Amadora, where the young AG Insurance - Soudal squad will look to make its mark throughout the week.

Volta a Portugal will be a week of learning and progress for our Devo riders, as it is a race where they can challenge for some strong results. The parcours is not as demanding as in previous years, but there is a good mix of stages that will provide a great race. The focus will be on competing as a top team and giving the riders key experiences that will be important as part of their development plan,” said sports director Dani Christmas.
